Born from an idea of Adriano Olivetti and Gino Levi Martinoli, head of the Projects and Studies Office founded in 1929, the Olivetti MP1 was physically designed in 1932 by Riccardo Levi, with designs by Aldo and Adriano Magnelli. It is Olivetti's first portable typewriter and is also known as the ICO model.
