It is certainly the most famous Olivetti portable typewriter of all time, thanks to the work of the designers Ettore Sottsass and Perry A. King and the excellent advertising campaign that contributed to the worldwide success.
The body design was patented in the USA by Ettore Sottsass on March 23, 1971.
